How about I sum up the past month and a half as painlessly as possible...
Finals week- Finals suck, but most were easy. Leaving everyone for 5 weeks was harder. I like that there's no class, but damn. My life is at WKU now. Go home on Friday to make it to work on Saturday after Lynn begs me through Facebook. Was planning on staying Friday night to keep someone company, but BBW calls.
Week before Christmas- work nonstop. People are crazy. Some nights we didn't close until midnight and left the store around1;30 am. Nuts.
Christmas- Kick ass. Nice relaxing day. Chilled out with family and friends and drank some beer that my parents got me for the holiday. That was kick ass.
Day after... Work. OMG, worked a four hour shift from 1 to 5 and then back again at 10 til 4;30 am to do a new floorset. Nuts again. Then off to IHOP with a couple of the managers and my cousin. The waitress sucked ass.
Somewhere between X-mas and New Years- Lots of work, mostly work and sleep. Went to do the Hacienda thing w/ Audra. Mudslides are good shit.
New Years Eve/New Years Day- Worked an 8 hour shift then drove to BG for a New Years party. If it wasn't for Jon I probably would have stayed home. So that was good times. There were ton of people I had never seen before, but things got better. Had been suffering from cuddle withdrawls so that got fixed. Hell yes for that. New Years Day.. another goodbye and a long trip home.
Between New Years and Now - work has slowed, so its been a cycle of sleep, workout, guitar/ps2/whatever, dinner, movie, sleep with work mixed in there somewhere. I haven't had the urge to go out much. I've just been enjoying company from my parents and dog. So if you feel ignored by me this break, no worries, everyone is getting equal treatment. Somewhere in there I recorded a little stuff for The Pathetic Pool. Ridiculous shit really. Oh and my karate class got cancelled for the semester. Suck on it to however that happened.
All in All - It's no longer that I'm just bored and want to go back to school. No, I really need to go back. I miss everyone: you know who you are and the quirky reasons I miss you so much. People get so jealous when I say that I've had 5 weeks off. Well, the grass is always greener...I'm done working for the break so all I have to concentrate now is getting all my shit back together and finishing up a few things at home. 4 more days bitches...
P.S. It is definitely party time when we get back.

Turkey Day and other crazy shit

Okay, Thanksgiving break was a doozy. Went home on Tuesday night after the night class so I'd have all of Wednesday to do whatever I wanted. Ha, well, I was out most of the day. Did Wal-mart with Keri, ran to the library to work on some speech stuff, and then went to grab a few things at target. When I did come home, I got a lot accomplished. Not much in the way of relaxing, but it's all good. Thursday I went to the usual Thanksgiving lunch with the family and came back to work on more shit. Then Friday rolled around... black Friday. Scary shit. I walked in to Bath and Body Works at 7:40 to find we'd been open sice 6 A.M. That is scary enough. Lucky me, I got the task of filling the walls and tables that had the $5 special Wallflower sale. People were grabbing shit out of my hands. That 8 hour shift about killed me. The next day was more of the same, and by the end of the shift I thought my feet were going to detatch themselves because they were pissed. By Sunday, it was time to pack up and come back. It was definitely a short break.
Sunday night was a bit on the awkward side. I'm not going to go into a ton of details, so you'll just get the basics. Most of you that actually read know what's going on anyway. Here's the deal, Jon asked me out on a date. The situation is awkward because Jon dated Annie at the beginning of the year and both of us are her friends. I told her on Thursday night ( he asked on Monday night, but there was speculation that he might ask starting Saturday night). Well Sunday I knew she was pissed so I tried talking with her about the situation. I know we both tried to stay as calm as possible, but things were throw around and feelings were getting hurt. After we went full circle with the situation I went to bed in hopes that we'd discuss it again on Monday night. Well Monday rolls around and she comes downstairs to find Jon and myself sitting together watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Kimi and Whitney. A really hurtful looks was given and then the door was promptly slammed and she disappeared up the stairs. I sat in the room completely drained for a minute. This situation was not what I had in mind, ever. Obviously I haven't given the complete story, but I'm just going to lay out my views/feelings/etc. Most of you know I have a difficult time communicating my feelings so bear with me please. The situation I'm in, crossing into a potential dating situation while reaching for anything to maintain a true friendship, wears on me. I've always been told that I'm bad about trying to please everyone. I understand I cannot do that, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad quality--especially in this situation. I'm not about to break my system to just go for an all or nothing situation. That is just ridiculous. You do that with shopping, "Oh, do I get the really bitchin' shoes and no sweet hat, such a decision." No, see, that sounds stupid, too (go for the hat). Anyway, I can find a way to compromise for any situation. But you say, "Why should you have to compromise-- it will only hurt everyone?" If there's no compromise, no one reaches any progress. So if compromise is what I need to do to hold on to what I have, then there's no question as to what I'll do. I realize I've written in fairly general terms, so I'll try to be specific. Bottom line: I want my friendship with Annie to grow from this situation. I want a shot with Jon. I want for there to be no doubt in my mind. I want to see some smiles again. Here's what I know: I know things have changed, are changing, and will change. I know this isn't easy. I know I will have doubts. I know it will take awhile to see those smiles again. But most of all, I know what I want.

Haaaahh holy shit y'all

Wow. Okay. This past week or so has been crazy as hell. I got back here after I got my hurr did. (shut up) It went over quite well. I really like it. Granted, it's gotten quite a bit lighter since I did it, but it's still good. But the entire week was crazy... if I wasn't studying for tests and shit, I'd have something else going...such as kicking Jon's ass in 1080 snowboarding. Thursday I actually woke up on time for my Chemistry test so hooray for that. Thursday night was a nice turkey dinner in fresh food. Good shit right there. Friday night I went with Whitney and Jon to go see the new Harry Potter, which kicks ass by the way. Then that night we went over to PFT for whiskey whiskey Friday with Hubbs, thus began the weekend blitz. That was a good deal of interesting. Then we crashed in on Annie at the station for a bit. Saturday was just a big ball of fun. We were all excited because it was the last night that Chris would have a party for the semester (gotta get all serious for finals and shit). So it was a blast. Find some pictures at the picture trail. We all pretty much felt like shit on Sunday so it was a mission accomplished. Thanks Chris for having kick ass parties!
So this week (2 days of class) is just chill for me... no tests, nothing really. So I was just doing my rounds online here and I made my usual stop at the Howie site. Well, I found some new tour dates...holy shit, Howie's gonna be in Nashvegas the weekend we were planning on going anyway. I read on a bit further to see it was the Acoustic Christmas with Natasha Beddingfield and Switchfoot hosted by 107.5 The River. Too bad the only way to attend the show is to win tickets. Well, we switched on the radio today and listened in for chances to win. We tried a couple times and decided to go to dinner and be back for the chance at 6:06 to win. Well, we hear the cue and Kim, Whitney, and myself all whip out the cellular devices. We're all redialing like crazy and then Kimi's eyes light up... apparently the phone was ringing. Her mouth drops open and hands me the phone. WE FREAKIN' WON TICKETS! Holy hell. So this thanksgiving I'm thankful for Kim's phone service. I'm about to piss myself by the way. Howie, acoustic, small show, FREE! Kick ass. Until next time...

Comin' home

I'll be headed home Friday and coming back to WKU on Saturday. I know it seems weird that I'm going home for only a day and just a couple weeks before thanksgiving, but I HAVE to get my hair cut and dyed. I kept my nasty ass roots growing out for my Halloween costume, and I'm tired of the blonde thing so it's time for something new. I will get a chance to hang out with some of my people back at home for awhile so that is good too. I'm definitely uber excited little miss "I'm engaged" Katie since I haven't seen her since, damn spring break I think. So I'll see some of you at home tomorrow and Saturday; others, I'll see you when I get back. Be on the look out for the new hair color, too. So a dorm room is our home for a good portion of the day. We can't burn candles or burn incense because that would just be too horrible for anyone to deal with... in other words, stupid people did stupid things in the past to bring about stupid rules like these. Anyway, people will try anything to keep the room smelling fresh, from extravagant room sprays to those cone looking room deodorizers. Sure, those work, but who wants to smell tropical citrus all the time, especially when it gets mixed with a tangy room spray? Not us. This is where the best idea ever comes in. We continually run a fan in the room to have air circulating constantly. Hooray for fresh air right? Now, what we do is tie two little strips of a washcloth to the fan's outer cage. This is entertaining as well, you know, little towlettes dancing about all the time. Fun shit. Back to the point: we traveled to Wal-mart and headed to the gift sets of fragrances... not just any fragrances--men's cologne. We purchased a gift set of three 1 o.z. cologne bottles, including Gravity, Aspen, and Preferred Stock all for 9 bucks. Hell freakin' yes. All we do is spray or drop a bit of the cologne of choice on the flying towel pieces and Shazaam! A heaping pile of sex platter all over the room. We repeat this process twice, maybe three times a day. It kicks so much ass. Plus, if you really want a little boost, get your body pillow and splash a bit of that on there. Naps have never been better. She found one, but wants it to fit a little better, so I'm now her personal ass-kicker. I'm not gonna go all nazi on her or anything, but I'll get into it. My deal is that I do whatever she does. The elevator is broken to her for the next month so I'm a stairs only kind of person. I just remind her of the episode of Friends where Monica is Chandler's personal trainer--I'm not that bad. If nothing else, it should be fun.
Saturday was the NSCS induction for Whitney and me. I think everyone pretty much fell asleep. My parentals came down to watch and then we went out to eat afterwards. Then it was camping time. The four of us went out to beach bend campground. It was a bit on the ghetto side, but we could handle that. My dad sent us firewood which lasted a whole 2 hours. Whooo. Firemaster Kim kept it going pretty well most of the night though. At one point there was about 8 people there and we were just joking and having a good time and all of a sudden this lady comes up in our area and says "is anyone here an adult...of drinking age, because I have no problem calling someone!" My immediate response (besides what the hell) was "Call the po-po ho! I ain't scared of no po-po!" She just assumed that we were underage kids coming out to camp and get wasted. That was not the case-- A) there were 5 of 8 of us that are all over 21, and 2) NO ONE WAS DRINKING YOU WHORE! So she walked around and called in license plate numbers for no apparent reason. Keith Urban got pretty fired up and took the father role trying to get this lady to chill out and be reasonable, but she just chose the dumb redneck route. No one ever showed up to "bust" our party. We were ready for someone to show up too. I was planning to pass a breathalizer and offer the po-po a smore or something. Dumb assholes. Later that night Phil climbed a tree for more firewood, some drunk people on a golf cart gave us firewood, and then it stormed hardcore overnight. All in all, bitchin' trip. You know where you can find pictures.
When I woke up, Annie told me that her Mom saw that there was a tornado that hit back home in e-ville. I went to get my phone to find a voicemail. It was Chris letting me know the same news as well. Thanks you guys for passing that message on, I really do appreciate it hardcore. So I call home to find that my parents didn't even know about it, but it pretty much destroyed Ellis Park and parts of Newburgh. Sounds like everything is okay back at home, I'll be coming home this weekend to see some of the damage, well, that and get my hair cut and dyed. That's all for now. Until next time...

Giant update

Ok let's start of with the Halloween extravaganza. Thursday night we went out to the first Halloween party for the weekend at Chris's. I was under the impression that more people would be dressed up, but to see keith urban dressed up as a metro-ninja was good enough for me. The four of us were all pimped out in our costumes, though. I decided thursday was gonna be the drinking night for me since the other places I was planning on going would probably get busted. So that night was fun. I got ragged on because I missed a lot of the party though. Hey, don't give me crap about it. By the end of the night we had stacked a plastic bench with two stools on top of sleepy Wes's head and drew fun things on his face. Find pictures at http://www.picturetrail.com/mojowku325.
So Friday I decided to go ahead to class even though I think I got 4 hours of sleep, tops. Oh well, I looked like hell, whatever. Friday night I was supposed to go to college suites with jennifer and james but I never heard back from her as to where and when the party started. I don't really know what happened there, but I did end up at College suites... granted it was to pick up a slightly drunk Ghostbuster, Jon. Kim went out on a date that night... and we didn't see her again until about 24 hours later. Haha, good one.
Saturday was Phil's party. I was hella excited for this one because I knew a lot of people would be dressed up. It was indeed a lot of fun. I handed out my (trixie's) business card (which i strategically placed my cell number on) to some of the man folk at the party. That was a lot of fun. Everyone for the most part was dressed up and having a great time. I engaged in a candy necklace eating contest with annie, in which we competed to see who could get the candy eaten off their necklace the quickest... well, hers disappeared faster than mine, but i had a bit more of a variety of those chomping on the necklace. I call it a tie.
Monday, Halloween is kinda old by this point but that doesn't stop us. We had the bright idea to borrow annie's ladybug costume so i could wear around the neighborhoods and go trick or treating. haha, that's right. I put a bunch of glitter on my face and the costume on a ran for it. jon drove while whitney and kim laughed their asses off in the car while i ran amok (hocus pocus reference there). I scored enough candy to split 5 ways. it was sweet.
Wednesday and Thursday sucked ass. I had a speech on wednesday, which i was readily prepared for but several things went wrong in my presentation such as my audio failed to work in places, i stuttered, and i forgot to pass out picks at the end of the speech. somehow, however, i pulled a 199/200 on the thing. ha, whatever. anyway, i studied the rest of the day for my chem test and broadcasting test set for thursday. I get to bed around 3 after studying, joking in 602, and watchin some viva la bam with the bitch. I hit the hay and wake up at 9;50... 25 minutes after my chem class started. fuck, i just slept through my exam. so i run to class only to find that everyone had assembled in lab. I track down the sub for the day and he instructs me to go ahead and do the lab and contact my professor. as of now, no answer. worst case scenario--he inserts my lowest test grade (88%) in that slot and i have to take the final, which wouldn't be terrible, but it's 50% of the overall grade. screw that shit. so then i take my bcom exam, not terrible, but definitely room for improvement. got back to do econ, shower, eat and then head out to chris's to watch episode 3. so we watched and then came the time for me to finally let him know where i stand with our dating situation. i had come to the conclusion that we have fun together, but i couldn't see a connection strong enough to last and turn into a long term sort of thing. we tried, and i really enjoyed hanging out with him and all, but i've never found that connection to someone that i really seem to be searching for right now. i really felt awful because he is one of the nicest guys i've dated/met, and he has some really great qualities, but i couldn't find that connection. so i came back to the dorm feeling pretty lousy so i picked up my guitar and had some therapy time.
on a brighter note, we're going camping tomorrow after my shitty national honor society induction thing. i'll get to see and eat with the parentals and then it's campin time. granted it's only 10 minutes up the road, but hell its all cool. p.s. if you are in the bowling green area, feel free to call me and i'll give you some directions to where we'll be at. oh, and some more really kick ass news... my girl katie and her boy brian are now engaged! holy shit and congrats to that! and after not seeing her all summer (actually, i dont think i've seen her since spring break) i'll get to see her next weekend when i go home to get my hair cut and dyed, which i'm super psyched about. okay, well i'm gonna try to update more so i can give it all to you guys in smaller bites. i'm not much to read a whole bunch of rambling myself, so i can understand if these long ass posts are frustrating. so i commend you for reading this entire message. you should go get a cookie. until next time...

Trapt concert and other shit

First and foremost, I suck at updating, but then again you all suck at comments so I say we call it even. Anyway, last Thursday was the Trapt concert. Dan came in town around 3 and we chilled around the dorm until about 5 when we (Kimi, Whitney, Dan, and myself) stolled down to Diddle to get in line. I anticipated a line forming at around 3 or so, because damn, it's Trapt and they just released a new kick ass album recently. Well, we arrive and there's no one in sight minus 103.7 The Point trailer that's blaring music. The doors are locked, but someone meanders out of the building and I sneak in. The guys from the point said we should probably head back outside before someone came by and clubbed us or something. Back outside we went to take a quick lap around the building. When we came back there were a couple kids playing hackey sack by the doors so we decided to just park it for 2 hours since the doors weren't set to open until 7. So at 7 the doors open and somehow we didnt make it to the front of the line and were in the second row in the floor. Aphasia, whom I'd never really heard of took the stage at 8 and rocked out for 30 minutes. We were right in front of the really cute guitar player who played barefoot, not to mention the angry asian drummer--he kicked bunches of ass. I reaaaaaally liked their set. Next up, a set change before Blindside. A dumbass couple excused themselves to stand right in front of me. Not cool, I'm short, yall know. I tapped them and explained this set-up was not going to work so they let me in front of them, but not for long. Blindside hit the stage and the crowd went nuts. The guy next to me kept jumping up and down and running into me, so I got a few shoves in. Blindside was okay; their sound wasn't perfection and I think it might have been a bit too much for my taste, even if I really like their song "Pitiful". So for further annoyance this couple stood in front of me once again while the crew set up the stage for Trapt. My short fuse kicked in again so I told the guy again, this would not work. He left after a couple minutes, but his girlfriend had snaked her way up on the rail and remained in place. After a few persuasions by Kim to elbow the girl in the head, I decided to take a different approach. So tapped the girl and explained that I had been in line since 5, and I didn't recall seeing her there at 5. I told her I came here to see Trapt and I'm going to be on that rail. I scared her enough to gain my spot on that rail. Trapt came on and kicked much ass. People were moshing and crowd surfing all over the place. It was insane. Dan ended up getting pulled in to mosh and dropped while crowd surfing. I came out of the show pleased and barely a voice.
It was rumored that Trapt would be coming out to sign stuff so we stuck around for a bit. While roaming around to figure out where merchandise was being sold and where the band might set up I spotted the cute guitarist from Aphasia behind me. I turned to him and congratulated him on an excellent show. I headed on to buy my merchandise and spotted him and the drummer again on the wall. I bought their cd so I asked them to sign it and had a quick conversation with the entire band and compared tattoos. Whitney snapped a quick pic with the drummer, guitarist and myself and we got in line to meet Trapt. Got to meet the band and they all signed my shirt. It was by far the best 11 bucks I've spent here at Western by far.
So in the past week I've made a rather major decision about my college career. My original plan was to major in mass communications and minor in marketing and possibly english. Well, this Econ class that I'm in right now has been kicking my ass hardcore and I just don't enjoy it. After reviewing the requirements for a Marketing minor, I saw that I needed several classes that were really gonna suck if I hated this Econ class now. So I made the decision to drop the marketing minor and replace it with an English (writing) minor. I think I'll be much happier with this decision. Classes this semester haven't been all that hard, but they've been much more demanding than I expected. It's getting a bit stressful, actually. So I'm definintely looking forward to the weekend because I'm gonna get a bit of my "me time". I haven't had all that much this semester, because I really haven't needed any. This weekend is due for some me time though.
In other news, I finally shot some stuff for the show PFT last night. I got to wear my dress which I lovingly call my "whore dress". I'm pretty excited to see how it turned out. It was a lot of fun, I guess mostly because I'd never done anything like that. I'll let you all know when it shows. Ah, well, I think I need to get on studying for Econ since everything isn't completely clear to me just yet. I'm updating pics from the Trapt concert so check out my picture trail at http://www.picturetrail.com/mojowku325 and until next time...

Damn I'm slow

So I realized I hadn't updated here for a couple weeks or so. Really, I've been busy. Doing what exactly I can't seem to recall. Mostly just studying I guess. Did some shopping in there somewhere. Fed my PS2 habit and got 3 games for 10 bucks all together. That excited me. Ahh, I guess I'll just skip to Fall break. Started on Wednesday. Kim and Whitney came home with me on Wednesday and I treated them to the wonder that we from E-ville call the fall festival. Nothing beats 4 blocks both sides full of food. Deep fried, covered in cocolate, and on a stick kind of shit right there. Between monster ears and loaded potato soups, strombolis and a deep fried snickers bar we definitely had our share of calorie intakes for the entire month. It was nuts as usual. Took them back into the game and ride area, or the danger zone. Those of you readers who've been to the fall fest. know what I'm talking about. Gangs and middle schoolers roam freely on these grounds. Beware of the annual stabbing as well. So after we were burned out on the fall festival and the abundance of people who only had one speed -- mosey, we left to go watch a couple movies.
Thursday we headed out to Kentucky lake. My grandparents has a little trailer there so we camped out in the lot across from them. Nice little weekend of smores, golf cart off-roading, and no homework. I needed that shit. Of course when we came back on Saturday I didn't get any homework done either. Shit, I drove all weekend, including the off-roading so I was tired... or something to that effect. So we just did the nonsense thing on Saturday. Showed off the videos of the trip, played some ping pong, silly stringed 5th floor RA John (Batman), played twister in the elevator, saran wrapped an OMG pledge's door for a belated birthday gag, you know, the normal shit. Annie had been here all weekend (mostly) by herself so she was happy for us to be back. I'm glad she joined in the festivities. Seems like she's so busy now. I guess that's the trouble with being a senior. As gay as it sounds, she was pretty much my constant last year and now that she's so busy things are just different. I don't know, I guess I just miss that.
Anyway, Sunday I spent most of the day trying to memorize/freak out about the fact that I barely knew my speech. But it's all good as I kicked ass on it today when I presented it. Now I'm taking a break from studying for my chemistraaaayy and lit. I'll admit it, I'm lazy. I've been downloading live shows like crazy lately. If you've never been, check out http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php and search and download somem shows. I download some Howie shows religiously (I suggest 11.25.02 and 9.28.05) and theres some Gavin, Maroon 5, Tolch, Mraz, Jack Johnson, all that good stuff on there. But I guess my time is up on the study break, better get back to that shit. Hooray for the Trapt concert coming up on Thursday, this weekend is gonna kick ass. Be on the lookout here soon for pics from the lake. Until next time...

Idiots

Okay, so I should be studyin for this uber econ test I have to take in about an hour, but I'm a little pissed off. There was a note on my door last night from our R.A. that we needed to see her or the 3rd floor R.A. ASAP on Friday. Well David the Gnome was gone so I thought they were just doing rounds and had to take him because he was outside our door, and we're not really supposed to have him out there. WRONG. I just caught up with her a few minutes ago and she told me that the gnome was shattered last night on the 3rd floor (guys floor). The 3rd floor R.A. apparently heard this crash and some laughing and when he looked out there was the pieces of David on the floor. He went to do something and when he came back it was gone. But nonetheless, David is not whole and the people who did it haven't come to tell me yet.
Well, this just kinda bites at my nerves. Okay, I realize it may be stupid to leave something outside the door in hopes that it will remain perfectly intact. The whole reason I put him out there was so he'd infact get stolen and return with pictures. I clearly outlined this in a note that accompanies him outside the door. However, it does not state "Steal me and shatter me into pieces, please" you dumb bastards. Last time I checked we're in college. Yeah, I know people do dumb shit in college. I know all about it, trust me. But for real you guys, don't steal personal property only to break it... and then don't let the owner know. If it was an accident, I can accept that. If you are a dumb bastard that thought it would be cool to bust someone's personal property for your own simplistic enjoyment, go straight to hell. That is not what the gnome was there for.
Because this pisses me off so much, I will track down the people that did it. I shouldn't have to go out and get a replacement for David because of some idiots. That is just damn ridiculous. All I have to say is rest in peace David... your little gnome friends are gonna hold up their end of the bargain and go kick some ass.
It's time to study and then go home. See you all in E-ville this weekend. Friday started with the pants party at Chris and Keith Urban's apartment. Chris decided he wanted to paint his face for some odd reason so I thought, what the hell, so I had RB braid my hair the night before and took it out before we left. So then I don't wear makeup either so another what the hell moment and damn there's some serious eye makeup going on. Kim went ghetto style with her hat cocked and Whitney wore her flashing shoes and some Mardi Gras beads. A couple hours and a couple drinks later the four of us sang "If it makes you happy" into a sound system that Gary (Keith urban) rigged up in the living room for us. The entire night i tried to break a bottle with my hand (it's possible and I just can't seem to get it). So in the end, some shit was going down between Chris and Liz. I have no idea what is going on there because apparently this girl isn't all that fond of me. I guess I'm scary or something. Then Annie was feeling upset and kinda sick so after we made sure that she was in check, Whitney and myself walked back to campus around 3. Fun shit right there.
Most of the day Saturday I worked on some homework since the roomie was asleep most of the day. Got a lot of shit done actually. That night I went with Annie and Whitney to Phil's new house. For those of you who aren't familiar with Phil, he's the guy I was guided to call one night when I just wanted to cuddle. We weren't planning on staying past 12... well that went down the drain. About 10 the party was looking kinda dull and Phil looked disappointed that many people weren't there so to boost the morale, I chipped in and bought myself a cup. I figured I would get my $2 in with a cup, haha. Well, let's say I definitely got my money's worth. More people showed up and we ended up having quite a bit of fun. Got to watch a guy play guitar like Jimi Hendrix. It was ridiculous. We ended up cutting out of there about 3:30 or so and then heading to Hardees. Good shit.
Most of today I've just been doing a lot of nothing. Went to the mall w/ JD and James, Wal-mart twice, out to look at costumes, danced with an animatronic skeleton, boxing in the hall and the lobby, (videos to come soon) some water balloon action, my shade fell down and hit me, etc.
And for some reason today must have been a good day for some self refelction and realization. I'd like to consider myself pretty good or average at most everything I attempt. I tend to pick things up rather quickly too. Well, this is all good, but once I pick it up, I'm slow to improve. I want to excel in so much that it turns out that I've only turned out to be mediocre at a lot of different things. That was cool with me for a while but now I'm realizing that I can't be just fabulous at everything. I try to stretch myself so far in my interests and this has been my result. I don't have my feeling of invincibility anymore and frankly that blows. I'm sure this has been a long time coming for me. All I have to say about it is just "damn". Check out the pics from this weekend at http://www.picturetrail.com/mojowku325 . Tailgaters were out at 2 a.m. Friday night/Saturday morning setting stuff up already. And yes, I know that because we were headed back from Steak and Shake at that time. Saturday was nuts. The parentals came here with Roxy along with 23089748973 tailgaters and the focus on western group on top of that. Had a short picnic away from the madness and then they took off close to 3. Soon after, I went with the bitches to the EKU v. WKU game. It was a close game. It came down to the last 3 seconds where the score was 21-20 EKU. Our man kicked a field goal ending the game at a close 23-21. It was sweet.
Afterwards we headed to Chris and Keith Urban's apartment for a celebration.
See the pics at http://www.PictureTrail.com/mojowku325

So Kim and I had this fabulous idea to just make up songs (generally using others' music and stuff) including stupid quirks about everyone we know. Kim's was easy so here are the lyrics to the song I did for Kimi. It's called "I Want You To Stalk Me" Sound clips to come soon. Enjoy and until next time...

I want you to stalk me
I need you to stalk me
I'd love you to stalk me
I'm begging you to stalk me

I want you to stalk me
I need you to stalk me
I'd love you to stalk me

I'll line up my shots of booze
I'll put on a short ho skirt
I'll follow you home from work
If you say that you'll stalk me

Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you by me
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you behind me
Walkin' all alone without a man you know i feel like sighin'
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you behind me

I want you to stalk me
I need you to stalk me
I'd love you to stalk me
I'm begging you to stalk me

I'll line up my shots of booze
I'll put on a short ho skirt
I'll follow you home from work
If you say that you'll stalk me

Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you by me
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you behind me
Walkin' all alone without a man you know i feel like sighin'
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you behind me

Hey!! This year I'm gonna try my hand at acting. I know, what the hell, right? My friend Matt I met through my math class last year is making a sitcom with his friend. I'm not entirely certain of the actual plot, I do however know that there's an evil man who runs a hotel and a good man. Well, apparently there needs to be a bitchy, know-it-all secretary with a good, yet hidden heart. This is where I come in. (The role of the slutty secretary was already taken, that and I have the "smart girl" glasses for my role. It's all good) When it's all said and done Matt and his friend will enter this pilot of a sitcom in the school wide independent film festival. We're gonna start shooting some on Thursday. I'm gayly excited, strange really. The freakin' sweet part is that a lot of it is improv. Hell freakin' yea.
So I've slipped into a bit of a mood when I think about homework and such. I'm still pissed off about my [lack of] scholarship. I know I bitch about it enough, and that my attitude (that if I'm not getting any recognition for my hard work, why bust my ass) isn't characteristic, but it's something that bites me in the ass every now and then. I'm not saying that I completely blow off my homework, but I'm not letting it stress me out. If I want to play a round of ping pong when I should be reading over the current events again, whatever. If I want to watch the entire second season of the O.C... okay, maybe not the whole season.
Anyway, classes are good, big whoop. I do have to say that I really do enjoy living with the bitch. She good people. Who else would gladly encourage the making of Jesus Tapdancing Christ on the door. I've gotten her hooked on DDR now too. Yes, she's turned to the dark side.
And Rodes is starting to get a bit more friendly, and that makes me uber happy. People are removing the sticks from their asses and interacting. I've got a new DDR buddy and now a ping pong master buddy. We've had David the Gnome stolen 4 times already. When we have enough pictures I'm gonna make a little online album so be on the lookout for that. Ohhhh, and we have 3 new pledges for Omega Mega Gamma. Hell yea. Anyway, it's about shower time so I'm out for the night. Will hopefully have pictures from Parents weekend, EKU game, party, and David the Gnome soon. I'm FINALLY back at school. Moving day was alright it rained a bit and took forever to finally get everything all set up. It's good to see the bitches though. That night it was really quiet though. Total 180 from last year when there was hardly a minute when music wasn't blaring, doors weren't tinking, and cackles weren't sounding. I'm not saying that I want to pack my shit up and move back across the valley by any means though. Rodes is really flippin' sweet. We got a great location, a ping pong table, big screen, elevators, and showers with doors... oh yea, it's co-ed. Haven't done too much scamming on the guys floors just yet. I'm still getting back into the swing of things. Went to a rockin' party on Saturday though. That was good times for sure. I think I got total of 14 hours of sleep between Thursday and Sunday. Gotta do it up right I guess.
Today was the first day of class. Had a speech class bright and early at 9:10. Seems to be all freshman in that one. Econ202 was today as well. Got Kim and Whitney in that one so it may not be too terrible. Econ is not my strong point... it's pretty boring. Lookin' forward to tomorrow. I know, who looks forward to Chemistry. Got Chem and Broadcasting and then my night class. Oy, now that I think of it, it's gonna be a looooong day. Looks like it's off to study (gay) or something like it. Until next time...

It's been a summer

This summer has been completely different than any other I've ever been exposed to. A new awkward kind of freedom has presented itself throughout these past 3 months. The tired pattern of traveling for softball nearly every weekend has been replaced by a working schedule and occassional nights out. True, I finally succeeded in earning a paycheck, but ended this particular success quite abrubtly after discovering it wasn't where I belonged at the time. Aside from a reference to add to my resume, I took away a higher appreciation for servers and grilled food... as well as days off. Next thing I know, I'm working in a completely different atmosphere. One filled with respect, and even better--general satisfaction. Granted, I may not be happy to climb to the tallest shelf in the backroom to retreive a single product only to find that the lady that wanted it no longer desires the product in question, but that is beside the point. I realized I don't want to ever be stuck in an occupation in which I dread going to. That's like setting myself up for prolonged disappointment.
This summer I set out to work on opening up to others. I've been told I do kinda suck at that game. While my wall have not been torn down completely, they've been worn down. I've met some really great people. They may not realize that their impact, even how miniscule it may seem, but I'm completely grateful. So thanks, y'all.
My E-ville people, especially my girls, I wish I could have spent more time with everyone. Some friendships seem to have slipped right between my fingers when they should have just gotten stronger. While I know that not all is lost when it comes to these relationships, I just hate losing touch for no apparent reason. It's a major weakness of mine. Can't help it. I really found that I do enjoy people in general. Different personalities are just my thing I guess.
This summer has seen some fun times. Trip to Louisville with my girl Audra to see Tolch, Gavin, and Howie; long sessions on the ps2 with Dan, late night visit to IHOP with Phuc, trips to see my girls in action on the field, cuddling with my puppy Roxy, brief camping trip with JD, calls from my wku bitches, smoothies from scratch at Keri's house, shopping with my mom, new people, night drives, hairstyles, etc.
This summer is winding down. I've been ready to go back to school for a while now. I think I've learned and taken away just about everything I can from these three months. It's nearly time to return to school, where I actually feel more at home than anywhere I've ever known. I know y'all from western are as ready as I am. See you soon. Until next time...

CD review

Okay, for I just got Jason Mraz's new cd Mr. A-Z and its kinda strange. I absolutely love the live cd that was released about a year ago, and his first cd is pretty damn good, too. This one is kinda strange, but it gets catchier everytime I listen. He really does have his own style. It was very evident in this one. He's got some fun songs and some kinda strange almost Spanish sounding songs and then a few slow jams. I've found a new song to obsess over from this cd. For some reason I cannot stop listening to the song "Plane" on this cd. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about it. Just download it and catch it yourself. It's hands-down the best song on the album, and one of my favorites from him. Check out some lyrics. Until next time...

Jason Mraz - Plane

Drain the veins in my head
Clean out the reds in my eyes to get by
Security lines, the x-ray machine
Pretend you don’t know me so well
I won't tell if you lie
Cry, cause your drought's been brought up
Drinkin' cause you're lookin' so good
In your Starbuck's cup
I complain, for the company that I keep
The window's for sleeping, rearrange
Well I'm nobody, Well who's laughing now
I'm leaving your town, again
And I'm over the ground you’ve been spinning
And I'm up in the air, so baby, hell yeah
Well, honey, I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
Well I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
Damn, I should be so lucky
Even only 24 hours under your touch
You know I need you so much
I cannot wait to call you
And tell you that I landed somewhere
And hand you a square of the airport
And walk you through the maze of the map
That I'm gazing at
And gracefully unnamed
And feeling guilty for the luck
And the look that you gave me
You make me somebody
Oh, nobody knows me
But not even me can see it yet
Ah, But I'm leaving your town, again
But I'm over the ground youre spinning
And im up in the air, so baby, hell yeah
Well, honey, I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
You take me high-igh
You take me high-igh
Flax seeds, well they tear me open
And supposedly you could crawl right through me
Taste these teeth please
And undress me from these sweaters better hurry
Cause I'm heating upward bound, now
Oh maybe I'll build my house on your cloud
Here I'm tumbling for you
Stumbling through the work that I have to do
Don't mean to harm you
By leaving your town again
But I'm over the quilt you’ve been spinning round
And I'm up in the air, so baby, hell yeah
Oh, honey, I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
if the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn, damn, yeah
You get me high-igh
You keep me high-igh, oh, damn...
You get me high-igh
You keep me high-igh, oh, damn...

Me and Mr. Michael Tolcher. I knew when I came home for break that I'd have a "homesick" kind of feeling about wanting to go back to WKU, but it's starting to get ridiculous. I NEED to be back at school. Sure, I thought I left my sanity at home when I was at school. Indeed, I briefly picked it back up here at home, but I think it's been misplaced once again. I've been going shopping for the room already (which is gonna kick ass by the way) to maybe help pass some time. Ha, yea that just made me want to be back even more. I don't even care if there's tons of construction there. Hell, it might even be a relief from here seeing as I'm convinced that E-ville is the construction captial of the universe. This post is fairly pointless to anyone because everyone I talk to knows all this anyway. Oy. Just venting. Haha where is the patented "bitch chair" when I need it. WOW

The Tolch/Howie/Gavin show was definitely rockin'. Audra stepped up last minute to take Kimi's place to go to the concert. (Not bad timing actually since Audra just turned 18, fantastic b-day gift) I did make a shirt for the show. Dyed a t-shirt bright pink and used some fabric pens to write some of Howie's lyrics on my shirt. (Yes, I am a nerd and a big fan of his music. I had to show my appreciation somehow haha) Anyway, we got to the Louisville Palace, which is quite beautiful by the way, and looked around for a bit. Definitely got some looks for my shirt. Some confused (teeny-boppers and Gavin fans) and some apprecaitive (hard core Howie kids). We purchased our merchandise (Howie shirts, no less) and the guy selling them strapped a wrist band on us. Turns out we would get to meet Howie after the show. HOLY SHIT right. So they dimmed the lights and we watched Michael Tolcher perform. He had some guitar technical difficulties, but still put on a great show. There was an announcement made that he'd be out to sign stuff and take pictures before Howie's set so we went out to the common area where he'd be but the lights dimmed for Howie's show before we got to Tolch. Sorry Tolch, you rocked out, but Howie is the man gotta go.
Pretty convinced Howie was buzzing up on stage. He opened with Perfect time of Day and said something about the Pirates of the Carribbean because of how the Palace looked. He and his band rocked out. You and a Promise was quite awesome. Great outro and all the Howie screams, ahhhh sooooo good. Of course he ended with Collide. A good 6 girls behind me decided it wouldn't be enough to just sing the lyrics, so they screamed them (tone deaf "doo doo do's" included). Bitches.
So then came Gavin's set. He really is good. He walked into the crowd for a little while during his covers of papa was a rollin stone and proud mary. One song he played solo on his paino was cool but he hadn't played it for years and forgot some of the lyrics. Still all good. Belief and his encore of Chariot were my favorites from him.
After the shows were over we went out to the common area to do the meet and greet stuff. Well no one had any idea what was going on. While we were waiting around I spotted Mr. Tolcher and asked if he wouldn't mind getting flashed again (yes, i used that exact phrasing). So I got my picture taken with him and told him that I really enjoyed his show. After all this, they divided us up between orange bands (Howie) and yellow bands (Gavin). There were considerably more people there for Gavin I noticed. Shit, I was there for Mr. Day. While we were in line to meet him I thought "hell, instead of him signing the shirt that i bought or a ticket, I'll see if he'll sign my shirt that I made!" So I whipped off my shirt (don't worry I had another shirt on underneath) and handed him the shirt when i got to the table. He kinda glanced at it and said "what the hell is this". I told him what it was and he flipped it around and looked at it for a bit. He seemed amused so he found the snippet of Madrigals I had put on the back (I'm not so sure what i was dreaming) and wrote "... about but but i'm sure it was bettah" and signed in the space next to it. Holy shit, he just added lyrics to my shirt! His manager looked at the shirt and was like "wow, she's even got lyrics to 'tell me something'" (new song that rocks) I said, "heck yea, i really like the new songs" Howie even signed my ticket for Kimi since she couldn't make it.
Ahh, it was quite awesome. When I get my film back I'll have some pictures to post so you can see what I've been rambling about. Hope everyone that I called (and left messages to) could hear the show. Hello, Bath and Body works. Had orientation today. Granted the videos didn't exactly whip me into a frenzy or anything, but this looks a lot better. And the benefits... oh those could get me in a tad bit of trouble. So, I'm fairly excited about this one. Plus they had no problem giving me time off for the concert in Lousville which is in two weeks! Ah it's all good. I'm headed to get a punch on my frequent buyer card at the shaved ice stand. Good times for sure. Going with Bitch (you all may know her as Kim or Kimi) to the show in Louisville on the 6th of July. Seats look pretty damn good too. Middle section of the orchestra seating (floor, not balcony). That way, if i can't see everyone's pretty smiling face, you can at least see mine. haha i know, i'm lame. Until then, this will work so don't bitch about it.
So drama has once again found its way into my personal space again. I'm glad to help with what I can, but please don't overload me people. you know i'm not a fan of this stuff!
Well now that i'm done with lone star, i've really been hitting the classifieds, online listings and out searching for jobs. So far i have been interviewed at bath and body works, thanks to my lovely cousin joy. i should know if i've got a job by monday. aaand i'll be going in for an interview at hollywood video's game section tomorrow. that would be uber cool too. so hopefully i'm gonna have a job or 2 next week. and hoepfully i last longer than lone star. i'll keep my fingers crossed.
anyway, i've been enjoying myself hanging out with this guy dan for the past couple weeks. he's a good guy and fun to hang out with. he's good people haha. don't jump to conclusions though y'all, we're friends. i haven't really been in the dating frame of mind for some reason. I guess this is my brain's way to say 'hey, let's take a breather'. because it was definitely overloaded when i was at school with the wide span of personalities i encontered with each boy i 'crossed paths' with. And i guess it may seem a bit selfish for me to be taking this warped version of what i call "me time", but it just seems needed at the moment. Right now, i'm just doing my thing, and it's all good.
oh yea, howie will be in concert in louisville here soon. i'm pretty damn set on going. and if i miss that one, i'm going to indy. ahhh i've got to see my howie. p.s. let me know if there's any takers for the indy show! until next time...

Dammit/Yay

Okay, it hasn't been the greatest week ever for me, occupation-wise. Sure, it was really cool to get a job and I was excited that I'd have something new to do this summer. Well, Friday and Saturday were two very long days. I realized that I could in fact handle serving, but the atmosphere was really gay. They always stressed "at Lone Star we work as a family". Hell, I said if these people were my family I'd move out ASAP. It's not that the management was ridiculous, it's the chain's policies and the workers there that sucked. I mean, I'd only been there for training for a week and there was already a clique problem. High school bullshit. I mean, I'm not a complete idiot, I know that will be pretty much everywhere, but jesus h., this was just lame. I'm not one to put up with this kind of shunned treatment from co-workers and (not so) potential friends. All I really gotta say is Lone Star is good for eating, not working. And as Annie says "fuck that noise!" So I'll finish out my last day tomorrow. I really hate to say that I quit, because I am not a quitter, but it was something I had to do. I have plenty of time to hate and resent work. Right now I'm gonna find something that I like and enjoy the summer.
On a lighter note, my social life has been not so bad. I've caught up with some old friends. And made some new ones. I got to talk to Katie, and that was really cool. Even though we haven't had a chance yet to hang out, I know we will very soon. Plus, I've caught up with some from Western which is always good too. And thanks to myspace I've made some new friends as well. It's pretty damn cool. AAAAnd I finally got a chance to hang out w/ JD earlier today. She's got a new b/f and I think he's good people. Definitely a plus, I'm really happy that this guy treats her so well. It was good to hang out with her again too. Plus, she gave me a free belt. Hell yea, haha. So anyway, that's all I got for now. Anyway, I'm just gonna post some random conversations I've had with people lately, profound and ridiculous alike...

KLinenburg: wanna read something kinda ironic?
MojoWKU325: sure
KLinenburg: this is his horoscope for today
KLinenburg: Sudden, drastic change has never been on your list of favorite things. At the moment, however, thanks to the concerted efforts of someone quite determined, it's not sounding too bad. Don't overanalyze it. Just let it happen
MojoWKU325: hmmmKLinenburg: yeahKLinenburg: how am I supposed to intrepret that?MojoWKU325: ah you are doing too much interpreting
KLinenburg: i know
KLinenburg: onef my greatest flaws
KLinenburg: now how do i take that?
MojoWKU325: well its widely known that astrology is generallized to fit to some aspect of one's life. well the thing about it is, that the only people that actually care to read it will apply it. then the funny thing is, most of them end up being dead on quite often. so how generallized is it relly?

sfTbLcK288713: we looked like men in our softball uniforms...it'll be ok i promise
MojoWKU325: haha but you all didnt make money by wearing those uniforms.
sfTbLcK288713: exactly
sfTbLcK288713: lol
MojoWKU325: i'll be at a disadvantage now, if i can't look cute to some extent i'm gonna be screwed out of some tips for sure
sfTbLcK288713: lol no...just show some cleavage!!!! I got a job on Monday. Since the internship at Ellis Park never happened, I went for the next best thing... server at Lonestar. Ha, well, not exactly where I was thinking I would end up this summer, but it's all good. I get to wear jeans to work--I can't really ask for more.
Here's a quick congrats to my people that graduated this year. Way to go, kids!
Oh, and another congrats to my girls on Central's softball team. Great job in kicking Harrison's ass, thus breaking the 1st round losing streak! Too bad it had to end with Castle though. Just remember what I've always said: "Castle is gay!" The games were fun to watch, and it was good seeing everyone again. Even if you were only excited to see me when I brought the puppy, it's all good.
So that's really about all. I'm gonna get ready to go see Kicking and Screaming. I haven't been to a movie for a loooong time. Until next time...

BOOOOOOORED!

You know, there's tons of stuff I probably should be doing to curb my boredom, but that's not the point. At school I was only bored like once a week because I was always doing shit, no matter how ridiculous or pointless it may have been (enter "show me your boobs", flying kites out windows. etc.) Even then when I was bored, it only lasted for about an hour or so. Also, my definition of boredom was different. Boredom was when everyone was out to class or busy "studying" and I just wanted to do one of three things: 1) goof around with friends b) avoid studying by goofing around with friends or iii) cuddle, generally with Otis, not with friends. Now boredom is curbed by searching for jobs, potty-training the dog, and attending softball games in which my only participation is cheering and rattling umpires in hopes of getting thrown out. Things are definitely different upon arriving back home. I'm definitely missing the lack of the steady stream of "man candy" when I look out my window or take a walk. But seriously, some friendships have changed; some for the good, some for the not so good, and others have just been MIA. Granted, I have only been home for 2 weeks, so I'm not fretting that this recent trend will become a general pattern for the summer. Maybe we all just need some time to chill out and not worry about ANYTHING for a couple weeks, afterall, it is summer. Ha, I know, fat chance. Until next time...

Roxy

Puppy!

That's right. I got my puppy. We just rescued her from the Shelter on Thursday. My parents weren't wild on the name "puppy" as I originally planned, but I think "Roxy" fits this one. She's a little chihuhua/jack russell terrier mix. Everyone keeps asking if she's a german shepard though. Roxy weighs in at a monsterous 5.5 lbs. and isn't really expected to get much bigger. That's right, I've got a little dog and I'm gonna spoil her to death.
On a side note.... did you all see the O.C. this week? What a show!
Until next time...

Unpacking

I've been kinda busy the past few days. Friday was good (you know, minus the whole moving out and leaving in the morning). Came home and watched a bit of the O.C. with Keri and then I headed out to see some of my girls play at Central. Soooo good to see them again. A few of us headed to Hacienda (it's becoming a tradition). A waiter there claimed he could dance so after about an hour of torturing him he finally danced. Well, I wanted a sombrero so I hopped up and did a little dance. Hell yea, free hat.
Afterwards, I headed back over to watch more of the O.C. with Keri. We celebrated the beginning of summer with a little Boone's and the O.C. Doesn't get much better haha. Saturday was up early for the neighborhood wide yardsale. Not my idea of a welcome home. Sold some shit, most of it went back in boxes for the next sale. I sold a 5th grade science project though. Got a dollar out of that haha.
From then on, it's been one big unpacking and cleaning fest. It looks like hell around here, but at least I can finally see my floor. Score. I like to think of this as "puppy-proofing" the house. My dad finally caved in, now it's just a matter of time 'til I find my puppy. Only problem is, the 'rents don't seem to like the name "puppy". Dammit, I was dead set on it. So let me know if you have any names in mind for a small female dog. Other than that, I'm out. Got more unpacking and sorting to do. Until next time...

Uh huh, this my shit... or something like that.

Of course I couldn't forget the roomies picture.
